Saturday 2nd Limehouse to Greenwich (Linear)

North Thames Path followed by circular walk exploring Greenwich and Greenwich Park. Leader will meet walkers at 10am at Limehouse station (zone 2) on DLR from Bank. Walk concludes at Greenwich stn.(zone 2/3). Stunning views of London from the Observatory and Pointer Hill. Suggested lunch at the Trafalgar Tavern, Greenwich. Distance 8 miles, EX 162. 5th January London Water & Steam Museum. Walk to Hammersmith

Ten Polyramblers spent a very informative morning looking at the history of our water supplies and marvelling at the huge pump engines which were used to distribute water throughout London.Two of our ramblers also went to the musical museum next door for a guided tour!By the time we started the afternoon walk our numbers had expanded to 21 participants. Postal Museum and Mail Rail visit

On the Saturday after Christmas twenty Poly Ramblers were booked in for a ride on Mail Rail, the 6.5 mile underground railway which carried post between Paddington and Liverpool Street from 1927 to 2003.

Thirteen of the group turned out early for a stroll around historic Clerkenwell.  This took us past a house that once belonged to Janet Street Porter and then to the medieval Gateway to the Priory of the Knights of St John. Sunday 23 December 2018: London Cathedrals Walk and Carol Service

On a grey Sunday before Christmas, 13 Polyramblers met at Victoria tube station for a walk passing four cathedrals and attending a carol service at a fifth.  The first was Westminster Cathedral, or the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ,  the largest Catholic church building in England and Wales and the seat of the Archbishop of Westminster.   Continue reading Sunday 23 December 2018: London Cathedrals Walk and Carol Service
